Bad Mummy!

So today I emptied the cans and bottles bag - hubbys one and only job for me for the day. It was lovely; being 30 odd degrees and stinking hot, sticky smelly cans. I was chuffed to have it all done within 20 minutes. Grabbing a stray bottle on the ground I heard something move and looked in the hole I'd just taken a bottle out of - a baby brown snake was looking at me!!

For those that don't know me - I'm bloody TERRIED of snakes..... I won't even watch a program with snakes on it; nor do I hang washing outside when it's over a certain temperature when I'm sure they're waiting, hidden.... ready to pounce on me. Ridiculous I know but all true.

What happened next was a series of expletives (probably not even fit for a late night SBS porn-esque movie) and running - all the while thinking WTF am I going to do - hubby is at work Auuuggggh! Master 2 being the Steve Irwin in training he is said 'oh you saw a snake' and sauntered over to take a look. And he did kneel down and do the 'Coorrrr! Would you look at that'. After I screamed at him to get the eff inside - he ran and I followed to tell my stepson and his mate. 'Sick' was the response I got (must be a boy thing?!).

I enlisted the boys to help me get the younger kids in the car and told them 'I won't say don't look at it cos I know you will, but if you decide to; make sure you're wearing shoes and are armed and be safe for goodness sake'.

I phoned hubby on the way to the recyling depot and told him what had happened. After hanging up, Master 2 said 'Was that my Daddy' (he'd been on speaker phone). 'Yes' I replied; 'Oh, did you tell him about the fucking snake?' ......... WELL what do you say to that? After quietly sniggering I said 'Yes mate I did tell him about THE snake'.

Dear god  - FFS please don't let him drop his newly learned word at childcare! This naughty Mummy didn't censor herself.... lesson learnt but I can't guarantee it won't happen again as the snake has not been found and if I come across it again i'm sure the outcome will replicate the above.
